The viewers will take a journey through the worlds of the Russian fairy tales and meet some of the classic folklore characters. The exhibition comprises works by Viktor Vasnetsov, Vasily Polenov, Mikhail Vrubel and others. The virtual tour is led by Maria Razgulina, a museum interpreter at The Tretyakov Gallery.
The exhibition "Russian Fairy tale. From Vasnetsov to the Present” represents several levels of perception of the Russian fairy tale. On the first level it is percieved through art and the works of Viktor Vasnetsov, Ivan Bilibin, Vasily Polenov, Mikhail Vrubel, Wilson, contemporary artists, as well as the most recognizable images of the Soviet cinema and animation. The second level is a journey into the worlds of Russian folklore: tales, epics, etc. And the third presents the fairytale through the natural elements: the dungeon, the forest and the water, where the main events of the stories take place.
